We are the first and only one vegetarian restaurant that you can find in Dien Bien Phu. Lots of people have asked me why a vegetarian restaurant but anything else. Yes, It's really "weird" here for local people since they did not know how was vegetarian when we started our business 3 years ago. 

My mom is a Buddhist and we like vegetarian food. We started to be vegetarians since I was a little girl. When I got married, my husband had to move from his hometown to Dien Bien Phu. He's very good at cooking and his family were also vegetarian so we came to an idea of a restaurant for vegetarian people. At the beginning, It's not easy for local people to get used to something new like us so our main costumers were only tourists and we nearly gave up some times. Luckily, they loved our food and services and gave us lots of nice reviews on tripadvisor and lonelyplanet which bring us strength to keep going. 

Yen Ninh was named after a pagoda in Ninh Binh province (My mom's hometown, and also where we sometimes go to for our spiritual activities).​
