Cucumber Salad at Yen Ninh!
Salad (Nộm or Gỏi in Vietnamese), which is different from Western salad, can be easily found in almost every meal of Vietnamese people. It's a combination of variety of fresh or boiled vegetables, cabbage, grated papaya, slices of cucumber, ect. Other ingredients include spices, herbs, and peanuts. The salad is mixed, soaked in vinegar (or lime juice), sugar, salt, garlic and pepper. It's very popular. However, it does not mean making Vietnamese style salad is a piece of cake.
At Yen Ninh, we offer great salads (check our menu) and cucumber salad is one of the best dishes that we have. Our key is a special kind of cucumber that only grown by H'mong people, a local ethnic group living on the highland. It's not only crispy, fragrant and sweet but also free from non-organic fertilizers, chemical pesticides and additives.
Furthermore, a great harmonious combination of cucumber, pineapple, carrot, peanut and Vietnamese herbs makes our dish special.
